We will have a mandatory parent & scout meeting on Wednesday, September 2 at 7 PM.  The meeting will be held in the AB Room, tentatively.  Your son should attend in Class A's with their Scout Book and a bible.

The Ad Altare Dei Award is a Catholic Religious Award available for scouts that have been in scouts for 6 months, baptized, at least in the seventh grade and at least a first class scout.  This program will be an additional weekly meeting that will last approximately 1 hour.

The purpose of this meeting is to explain to the parents and scouts the magnitude of this program as well as explain the program.  This Ad Altare Dei Program, unlike the cub scout based religious programs, is time consuming and requires the scout to both attend meetings and work on service projects outside of meetings.  The program helps the boys explore their faith as it relates to the 7 holy sacrements.  The parents and boys will also complete the necessary application in the Youth Manual.  The Youth Manuals will be handed out and we will go over some of the high level information in the manual.  Homework will be assigned and future meeting dates will be announced.

Scout Religious Awards

The troop is preparing to start working on some of scouting's religious awards. The first award that we will focus on is Ad Altare Dei. The program to earn this award will last 10 weeks. Keep an eye on the web site as more details are set and meetings are planned. For more information on the program please visit the Scouts are Reverent web site.
